FAQ

What is allowed?

  • PG13 (but please be reasonable about blood/gore)

  • Big/detailed backgrounds

  • Multiple Characters

  • Action scenes

  • Mild shounen ai/shoujo ai is okay too as long as it is at most PG13 (use your best judgement!)

What is not allowed?

  • Sketches/unfinished pictures

  • R-18

  • Nudity (defined as male/female genitalia, or female breasts where the areola or nipple is visible; the back is acceptable)

  • Copying/tracing of existing work

  • Huge watermark or unintegrated title/text over the image

Does it have to be a digital drawing?

We accept both digital and traditional media drawings. However, if you choose to use traditional media, please make sure that it is properly edited to be printing/artbook quality.

Do I have to create a new drawing for this artbook?

Yes. Only under special circumstances do we accept pre-existing art.

What about OC’s (original characters)?

No. Please only use the existing characters in the Shingeki no Kyojin universe. You may, however, include original human or titan characters if they are there as a small part of the background and not part of the main focus.

Does the setting have to be set in the Shingeki no Kyojin universe?

This is encouraged. However, if you have any ideas otherwise, please leave us a note and we can discuss this privately.

Do I have to be an invited artist to participate?

Currently, we are in the process of inviting artists. However, there WILL be space left and we will soon begin open applications, which will allow anyone to apply to be part of this book. More information on open applications will be released at a later date.

I’m not sure if my work falls under the theme/guidelines.

If your are unsure of this, please send us a note with a link to your WIP. We will gladly help.

Are we allowed to add our signatures on our artwork?

As long as it is small, and barely noticeable, it is allowed. Please refrain from adding full URLs to your artwork. We will have a table of contents in the book to credit all of the artists.

Can I sell my artwork separately from the artbook?

Go for it! However, we do ask that you wait until at least pre-orders for the artbook are over.

What do I get out of participating in this project?

  • The chance to participate with many other talented artists and show your love for Shingeki

  • Directly being able to help out others and providing water to those who need it

  • Your very own free copy of the artbook when it is released

When will pre-orders open?

At the moment, there is no exact date because we are still in the process of recruiting artists.

Can I preorder another book even though I’m still getting a free copy?

Yes.

Can I help promoting?

Yes, that would be lovely!
